What if anything are the side pads of the Contour Belt supposed to do? Mine are doing absolutely nothing and have swapped connections to make sure it wasn't with wiring. Every time it's just the pads in the front that are doing anything.

You have to increase the intensity to feel the side pads working. If you keep it at a low intensity (15-20) you won't necessarily feel anything. I've been experimenting with the belt and got up all the way to 100% today. After the workout I felt like I had done serious AB work, but without straining or sweating. Its remarkable. Suggestion would be to increase intensity anywhere from 25-40 and you WILL feel the side pads working.

One other thing to add, sometimes I notice a difference in the gel pad effectiveness by how my body posture is - for example, sitting down vs standing up. If I am reclining on the couch vs typing at the computer, I notice the intensity is higher reclining on the couch... not that I'm advocating being a couch potatoe! LOL! Just a personal observation I wanted to share.
