First of all I absolutely love this product. In 3 months I've reduced my waist more than 4" and looking in the mirror and at before and after pictures I don't recall having this tight and small of a waist ever and I'm still working on it.

I've also successful maintained my gel pads for 3 months and this is the method I came up with.

The Gel Pads are water based so they need A LOT of hydration and much more than dipping your finger in water and coating the pads a little to rehydrate them. Left uncovered just a few hours, they dry out a lot so I make a point to cover them immediately.

First I tried sterile first aid gauze pads cut to the shape of the gel pads so that I'm moisturizing just the gel pads and not getting the belt wet. I would soak the gauze with clean water and then place them on the gel pads making sure to pat the gauze down to have full contact everywhere. Once I found a bubble in the middle where the gauze wasn't touching and that area didn't hydrate. Within 30 minutes you can tell the gel pads have absorbed a lot of the water from the gauze because they look spongier, puffier and have expanded a bit.

I have over hydrated the pads and the gel part would get too spongy and delicate and start to fall apart so careful not to over do it. You can tell also because they start to swell thicken and spill over the edge of the fabric part of the pad. I tend to find the ends of my gel pads get drier faster so sometimes I just put more water at the ends.

The gauzes didn't hold up to repeated use and sometimes would lint off onto the gel pads so I then looked for some thin synthetic fabric that could loosely hold water. I found some Neutrogena cleansing towlettes that I rinsed out as throughly as possible to remove the soap so that the chemicals don't get absorbed into the gel pads. I then cut them to the shape of my gel pads and they work perfectly. When they're on the gel pads I can even see when there's a bubble somewhere and pat that out and I can take a spoon and focus on moistening one particular area of the pads.

The gel on the pads can easily break down especially if it's very moist and puffy so I'm very gentle with them and careful to pull them off slowly when my sessions done or even when I'm rehydrating them or wiping them down.

MOLD- YIKES I noticed green mold on one of my gel pads! I have ordered more pads because I know these pads won't last forever however I would love to extend their lifetime as much as possible. It was where a bubble of air formed between the gel pad and the plastic cover so it was the perfect growing environment I think in just 3 days yikes. Good to know to watch for bubbles and loss of contact with the plastic covers as well when storing the belt and pads. Took a cotton ball soaked in alcohol and wiped down each pad to sterilize them a bit. I'll probaby start doing that occasionally and from now on I'll try to remember to wipe down the area of skin so that I'm not depositing oils and dirt onto the gel pads.

See if these methods work for you guys! ;)

The biggest method that I use to assist with the prolonging of the life issue is just putting the plastic covers back on the pads when not in use. That in it's own does a great deal to prolong the life

Hmmm...I am wondering if KY jelly or doppler gel would keep them more fresh. I am thinking maybe put this gel on after each use and then cover it with the plastic covers that comes with the pads.

Thanks for taking the time out to detail these wonderful tips and review.

I am signing up the lifetime pads program so hopefully I dont have to skip a beat with this awesome ab workout.

I dont believe I had it for an entire month...left it to go out of town on business then mini vacation.

Plan to use it twice per day 45 min with the recommended six hourse in between.

But this is a nice priced investment so I again plan to sign up for the lifetime program....for on $7.95 per month I plan to keep fresh pad on hand.

Also, what do you all think about keeping the belt stored in one of those giant zip locked bags....anyone tried that? I am wondering if that will help to keep the moisture in and the dry air out...I live in Florida...so I am sure...like most things...ie. ink pins ...I will have more challenges with dry pads than I care to endure....

Please let me know what you all think or have experienced with ZIP LOC BAGS?
