I have been using the Contour system for 2 weeks now. I use the resistance program level 1 with an intensity of 30% - 33%. I can feel it working, but have noticed that I seem to look bloated. Instead of the muscles coming in, is it possible they are working out? I have heard with traditional ab work you need to hold your stomach in while working, does this apply to the contour belt also? Have this happened to anyone else?

Hi,

In 20+ published studies where EMS was used to ehance muscle performance, there has been no evidence of enlarging abdominal muscles.

Muscles tend to grow when muscle is overloaded using heavy resistance and low repetitions.

With Contour, the resistance can be controlled with the push of a button, so whether you choose resistance (firming and shaping) or strength, the abdominal muscles will not grow in size.

Abdominal muscles do not routinely get larger. They usually get stronger and firmer before the fat begins to go away, thus giving the impression of getting bigger.
